Privacy Policy

Overview

Polenta is a local-first application. Your meeting recordings and transcriptions are processed on your own computer and are never uploaded to our servers.

Data We Collect

Polenta collects minimal data:

• Audio Processing: Audio is processed locally on your device for transcription. We do not store or transmit your audio recordings.
• API Keys: Your API keys for third-party services (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) are stored locally in your .env file and are never transmitted to us.
• Email Addresses: When you send meeting summaries, recipient email addresses are used only to deliver the summary via your configured email provider.

Third-Party Services

Polenta integrates with third-party services for transcription and summarization:

• OpenAI Whisper: If selected, audio may be sent to OpenAI for transcription.
• Deepgram: If selected, audio may be sent to Deepgram for transcription.
• Anthropic Claude: If selected, transcripts are sent to Anthropic for summarization.
• Resend: Used to deliver email summaries.

Local Processing

When using "Local Whisper" for transcription, all audio processing happens on your device. No audio data leaves your computer.
